Default Lemke Custom Cards

Bob Lemke used to make custom cards in the style of old Topps sets which had a grey back.

Did he print on grey cardboard, or did he print grey ink on white card stock?

Not sure the exact card you are referring to. During the time Bob was helping me get started in custom cards he would have printed the grey on white thin card stock.

I have about 20 of Bob's creations. Ben is right, he used white card stock. I pulled three from the back of my '58T binder cause it was close at hand. The pic is next to useless but you may (barely) be able to see that the stock was white.

I don't care what kind of card stock he used, but if anyone has an extra copy of his custom '54 Bowman Aaron RC - I would be very much interested in that. It came out in 2013. There are lots of Lemke customs on eBay right now, but not that one.

I don't know if I am answering this properly, but I helped Bob's widow liquidate things from his collection, including the balance of his custom-card inventory. The balance was sold in a single auction lot, but Bob gave me a few over the years, most notably Aaron cards because he knew I was an Aaron guy. I've got an extra 1954 Bowman Aaron ...send me an address and I send it along.
\
and yes, it was printed on white stock, as he did each of his cards individually.'

Does anyone know if he made a 1966 Topps Steve Carlton or a 1957 Topps Harmon Killebrew? I can't seem to find any if he did...would love to buy those if anyone is selling...

Bob's blog is still online. He checklisted pretty much everything he produced along the way on the blog.
