Jimmy was a fixture at Levi's table and walking the floor at shows for as far back as I can remember well into the 90's.

Very sorry to hear this news, he will be missed by many in the hobby, but more importantly his family and his 707 family as well.

I considered Jimmy to be a good friend, and in my opinion the smartest "card guy" in the hobby. I believe he truly loved working in this hobby- and soaked up knowledge about cards like no one I've ever known. I often joked with other dealers, that if Jimmy walked up to your booth at a show- and just quickly paid the price you had on a card- he most probably knew something about that card you didn't. (In my early years- this happened a lot!). If we ever picked teams for baseball card Jeopardy - he would have been my #1 Draft choice- hands down....

I just spoke with him at the Chicago show late Saturday afternoon- and it is very hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that he is gone. He was showing me some cards he just got a great deal on in an auction.(He was really excited about getting a 1952 Topps Hi# for $10). I am really going to miss him.

My sincerest sympathy goes out to his friends and family, his 707 family, and everyone in the hobby who loved and respected Jim. He will be missed.

Jimmy called me Friday night from Chicago, was always excited w/ the action of the show.
Was looking forward to the show recap from him today.
Spoke to Levi yesterday about the sad event, still can't wrap my head around this.
In 1987 I opened a card store in his hometown in Jersey, he'd come in almost everynight & we'd go out to dinner & talk cards.
Little Jimmy was just a tyke then.

Very sad news to hear. Although we did not do a lot of deals in modern times, we did go back to the old 'Willow Grove' days. A very knowledgable individual, that was always present at the National and other major shows. Will miss seeing him at the National next year. RIP

Horrible news. As others have said, Jimmy was a fixture at the shows for as long as I can remember and had an encyclopedic knowledge of cards. My sympathies go out to his family and the 707 crew

Just saw him at the Shriner show a few weeks ago! Jimmy and I would regularly "compare notes" about some of the more obscure test and food issues as well as buy and sell to/from each other at the old Robert Morris shows in Pittsburgh. As previously echoed - just a stand-up "good" guy with an incredibly deep hobby knowledge. His presence and knowledge will be missed. Condolences to his family, Levi and his 707 family.

So sorry to hear this news. I was able to see Jimmy this week at the Chicago show. He told me he had brought some sets so I stopped by and visited with him and looked. We exchanged some information. I asked him if he had any information on the 1968 Cornflakes Football Cards, and if he knew of any advertising pieces about these cards. He told me that he would forward to a friend and let me know. He then showed me a picture of a Stan Musial oversized Red Heart Promo card he had just picked up and was very excited to get home and get to look at it. I would always stop by and say hi to Jimmy and ask if new anything about test issues or some rare item I was looking for. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP Jim.

Levi was my main contact at 707 so I didn't deal directly with Jimmy much. But all you had to do was hang around the 707 booth for a while and you can see that Jimmy was one passionate and intense man when it came to cards. I am sorry to learn of his passing. RIP.

I've known Jimmy since the Willow Grove days. Jimmy had an amazing memory for cards from 19th Century to the modern era. What was more important
was that he would enthusiastically share all his knowledge with you. We had some really great conversations...."Talkin' BB cards".

We did a lot of deals over the years, either at the Shows, or at 707's location, which is only a 40-minute drive from where I live. The last time I visited with
Jimmy, he told me he had a T206 that I didn't have. Then he went to the safe and pulled out a really sharp looking T206 Lajoie (with bat) with a UZIT back.

Jim had forgotten more than I will ever learn. A void that can not be filled as he was a walking encyclopedia. A very willing mentor to all who sought his insights and knowledge.

Terrible news to hear, while I certainly didn't know him as well as some of the other members on the board, It's awful when the world loses such a kind and knowledgeable soul. I feel our hobby and the sport itself has lost too many people over the course of the last three years.

I didn't know Jim personally but I bought my first $5000 card from him, 54 WF Williams, I sent him an email on another card asking for a discount reminding him who I was and he offered to give me a substantial discount on any card in his inventory. I didn't take him up on it but his offer showed me who he was as a person. RIP Jim and thank you for your generosity.
