Default Show me Your Coolest Looking Common Cards

We've all seen a million Cobbs, Wagners, Ruths, etc. on this forum -- and they're all awesome. I think there should be a thread for the common cards with really awesome images.

Here's one of my favorites, the T206 Lefty Leifield batting. The colors really pop, and as far as I can tell, it's the only card in the entire T206 set that features a batter mid-swing.

Show me your favorite common. No HOFers allowed!

I think I might like this one. I've always been more drawn to the action poses.

I really like the background colors on this Weed card. A lot of the Obaks have very cool backgrounds. I also really like the T210s with the beautiful red borders and the B/W pictures.

I like everything about this T212. A fun little common Obak.

I agree...Obaks are cool! I like how Bernard is tilting his head so that we can fully view that structure in the background.

When he posed for his 1925 Exhibit card, I'm guessing that Earl McNeely is still on a happy high from knocking in the winning run in the 12th inning of the 7th game of the 1924 World Series, thereby making Walter Johnson the winning pitcher of the Washington Senators only World Series championship.

Here's another cool common card (otherwise known as a CCC). The regular issue Diamond Star of Melillo is incredibly neat and interesting, but the one on the right with the customized outlining is pretty special too.

I don't build sets but I do like these:

May not have touched second but the card implies he touched something else... As my wife often remarks, yes, I am ten years old.

I love your narrative, Val; on Mr. McNeely's Exhibit.

It made me wonder if this was the look, Red Oldham gave the last 3 outs to get; in the 1925 World Series; as his team mates take the lead on Walter Johnson in Game 7. All Red had to do was get 3 future Hall of Famers; Sam Rice, Bucky Harris and Goose Goslin. Mission accomplished.

Pittsburgh Pirates
1925 World Series Champions.

I don't own this card but I will someday. I think it has a real sense of grace to it.

It is a wonderful card for sure. Been on my radar for awhile. As usual I'm waiting for one that hits my cost/condition sweet spot.

Not much of a "scoop" if it is being reported 20 years after it actually happened!

[I am referring to the dateline on the card itself being incorrect...not to the year the card was issued.]

What?!?!? I had no idea that existed! That is really awesome - might have to look for one of those.

Look forward to the email, as always. No rush at all.

This horizontal image shows Germany Schaefer reaching to receive the ball, his glove barely larger than his hand. It offers few clues as to the position played. The field appears unlimited, stretching endlessly towards the distant mountains, framed by a vivid sky.

Well, 53 years actually (Merkle's error was in 1908).

I always liked the bat pointing at us pose and vivid colors on the E90-1 McInnes.

I apologize for the Nosy Neighbor...Thomas jumped into the scan before I had a chance to shoo him away.

I meant that the card itself has a typo and is dated September 23, 1928...admittedly it was a little unclear what I was referring to.

I have gone back and edited my original post.
