Just picked up this Nick Cullop endorsed glove. Looks like he was a pitcher in the teens. Pitched for the Yankees in 1916 and 1917. Got the glove in a lot which must have been from generational home. Had this glove, Hal newhauser, catfish Hunter and a couple newer. I think this is probably the oldest endorsed glove I have ever had.

ThAts very cool. I am far from a glove expert…how do you know that is a teens-era glove (nick cullop pitcher) and not a 20s era glove (nick cullop outfielder)?

I guess that’s why I posted it to get opinions. I didn’t realize there were two nick cullops. The tunnel web is a twenties feature but the skinny fingers made me think a bit earlier. The pitcher played 1916,17 and fielder 1926 - 31. Any glove experts tell me for sure which it is?

This might be the glove.

And here is Henry but no glove. Writers kept confusing him with Nick and he finally gave up and went along with it. The real Nick Cullop was a big prospect and more likely to have his name on the glove. Anyone have a Henry Cullop glove?

That’s why I think it’s a 20s-era glove. The outfielder Nick, I think, was also a pretty famous football player and had some hype….and perhaps parlayed that into a glove deal.
I have always had an interest in Pitcher Nick since he was born near my hometown…but I don’t think he was that type of prospect. Regardless, really cool glove |

I don't know why I have this... 1924 Henry "Nick" Cullop with Omaha Vikings. A new Yankee farmhand, he made it into 2 games in 1926

Nick Cullop the pitcher was a lefty, and this is a glove to be worn on the left hand. That pretty much rules it out as being a glove that Norman "Nick" Cullop used, but it still could have been associated with him, via an endorsement deal. Glove experts will have to chime in.

Henry "Nick" Cullop was right handed, so it may well be a 1920's glove vs the earlier Nick Cullop
