I think in order to meet this criteria, the printing gaffe would have to be pretty severe indeed...either that or the card met with some serious trauma during it's lifetime (ie...a bad soaking). But either way, I'm eager to see what might be out there that falls into this category.
I'll get us started....here's a Home Run Kisses Proof. HRK's are typically two-color sepia and brown colored on a light cream card stock. This card, somehow was printed in black on a thin white paper. lf.jpg |

The best example I have is this 1949 LEAF card which is not quite black & white entirely, but as close as it gets.
This is a true printing mistake. Over the past 40+ years, I have had several of these black & white 1949 LEAF's. ![]() TED Z T206 REFERENCE....convenient access to T206 checklists . |

Kid Gleason's n172 is awesome, and I love it, but just imagine if had been in color, or if Buchner Gold Coin had done it.
And here we have Kid Gleason and Connie Mack in a rare talking film (once you get past the podcast announcer). I believe it was recorded right here in Fort Myers at Terry Park in Nineteen Hundred and Thirty-Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrfn4h0gous |

If the 1948 Bowman Movie Stars had been done in color, oh man, they would have looked amazing!
