Hello all,
As I was putting things up about the "Steele Box" that I posted under a different thread I was wondering if any of the Junk Wax cards that I have have any value and are worth pursuing. I don't know how to go about it or how to find out if any of them would be of interest. I would like to know from the experienced is it even worth my time? I pulled cards and set them aside based upon what I see things selling for on eBay but I really am not sure if that is a good guideline to go by. Does anyone know if there is a place that lists the top cards (IF ANY) from say 1990 to 1995. If it's not worth searching for then that's fine too., I'll chalk it up to lesson learned. The cards were pulled from the original packaging back in the 90's and set aside. Some put into protective sleeves and never touched after that. I was going to have a bunch graded but I feel that I could be wasting my money. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. There are a number of players I pulled but then again they simply may be worthless cards. Here are a few pics of them, and there are more. |

It is tough to find value in '90-'95, especially if it isn't graded a 10, sorry to say (most of my original collection is '90-'95).
I'm sure some of the guys will chime in with a few outliers (Jeter rookies, for example). |

check out 130point.com to get sold prices from ebay which is a good measure of value. Jeter rookies usually bring in a premium in mint condition

I was thinking that. It seems like anything from that time period was just mass produced. The sad part about it is that the sport of collecting has or had become a huge moneymaker that the card companies all jumped on. I'd imagine that must have hurt them in the long run.

you might be able to sell them all as a lot. even selling that way, you really will not make much money.

Recently, I've been working on some Baltimore Orioles master sets from the junk era.
In 1990 and 1991, Fleer issued cards with U.S.A. (with a period at the end) and U.S.A (without period at the end) SCAN9605.JPG SCAN9605-1.jpg SCAN9604.JPG Not much value, but if you have any of these Orioles cards, I would be interested in purchasing them. All are no period variations. 1990 Fleer (no period) - 172, 173, 174, 176, 177, 178, 179, 180, 181, 182, 183, 185, 186, 188, 190, 191, 192, 194, 634 1991 Fleer (no period) - 467, 470, 471, 472, 473, 475, 477, 478, 479, 480, 482, 483, 485, 486, 488, 489, 490, 491, 493, 495, 496 |
