The birth of the "Hidden Treasure" crap boxes.

I doubt anyone ever won it because I don't remember any story of anyone winning the T206. Those redemptions have long expired and they made well over the cost of the crap that was in 99.9% of these junk boxes.

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

The card in the video is #29 in the T206Resource Wagner gallery:

http://t206resource.com/Wagner-Gallery.html

It was in a screwdown holder in the video, but was in a PSA 1 holder by 2002, when it sold for $54,000 in Teletrade. Most recently, it just sold for $1,169,875 in Mile High this past September.

I remember way back then, I bought 2 boxes of what was suppose to be a super valuable mix of cards. They were $50 a box and I just happened to have an extra $100 cash and was looking to break in my first ever credit card that had a $200 limit on it. I remember getting my first credit card bill with the $100 charge on it plus the shipping. I paid the total balance and a few days later a couple large brown boxes were delivered. I was so excited. I opened the first one, and it was nothing at all like what they showed on tv. I figured there was maybe $8 to $12 worth of cards and many were not even a brand I ever heard of. So I opened the second box, and it was worse than the first box. I called right away to complain and get my money back. They said I'd have to pay the shipping back to them unless I took a store credit. So I took the credit and the next weekend they were offering a limited numbered to 2500 Mickey Mantle poster made by Topps that was framed. I remember having to only pay like $40 plus my credit. So I got it and was very happy with it. A few days later, I got my credit card bill and paid off the total balance. A week later, they bumped my credit limit to $500. A couple years went by and I had a $20K limit on it. I was 18 years old and stupid. I ended up doing a stereo upgrade in my Honda. Took forever to pay that off, plus I had no idea what a 21.99% interest rate meant lol. But I still have the Mantle poster. The Honda is long gone and just a memory.

Default Thank You, Kevin

That was a truly amazing video. Made my day. As noted in the comments section under this video, at the 2:04 mark listen as Goldin takes a deeeep breath before going full speed again. Wow. What a performance. Peace and stay healthy.

Default Thank you for posting Don West

Very funny!

Also nice to hear Ken Goldin endorsing Don’ products! My grandfather bought two of those packages. Pile of garbage!

Ironically, when Don joined TNA Wrestling, Tristar issued an autograph card of him as part of their TNA IMPACT! trading card set.

That's right... it may not be baseball, but you can own your very own actual genuine real DON WEST AUTOGRAPH CARD!

Or maybe you'd rather have the... RED VARIANT! LIMITED TO ONLY 25 IN THE WORLD!!!

And for one special collector... the elite of the elite, who wants the best of the best... we've got something nobody else in the whole wide world can own... limited to only one, it's the unique CYAN PRINTER'S PLATE!!!!!!!!!!

Who's got 'em?

Ken at about 3:07 indicates that one of the Wagner cards you could end up with is a 1933 Sport Kings of Honus.

I thought I would point out, 24 years or so later, that this card, which in theory you could have received, actually does not exist.

Brian (pointing out late night Shop at Home miscues since right this second)

Wait... If he's holding the Wagner, doesn't it mean it's already been pulled and no longer in any of those boxes?

I loved watching this guy back in the day..I was about 12-13 and I got my father to blindly buy me one of the deals...like $40 I think....I remember there being a poster as part of the package...I think it was the Canseco/McGwire Bash Brothers poster.
No good cards...shocking!

I'm sure they had vouchers or redemption cards in lieu of the actual big-ticket cards,
