Hi all - brand new to the forum. Looking forward to chatting with you guys. I had a question I was hoping I could get some help with.
I have a 54 Aaron that is in fantastic condition except for the fact that it has a piece of tape on the back. It looks like a previous owner tried to scratch it off and then stopped when that wasn't working (please see pics). I've held on to this card ungraded for several years and am now thinking about sending it in, but how do you think PSA or SGC would grade this? Would there be qualifiers with PSA? Would it simply get an Authentic? Altered? Or would it qualify for a lower numbered grade? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

If the tape is still attached, PSA would normally give it an AUTH; if the tape falls off, probably a Good 2.

Ha - I wonder if it's the same person who owned my 54T Robinson!

Here is an example that resulted in a PSA 2. Good luck if you submit. Nice looking Aaron.

Thanks - I’d be really happy with a 2. On your Orr, is the tape still there or is it just the residue? I will most likely submit. Nothing to lose even if it comes back an A.

That is a fantastic looking card. If you got it at a 2 price, that was a very good deal indeed.

On that Aaron, if the front looks as good as it appears to and tape on the back is the only thing wrong - I'd happily accept whatever grade they gave it and not worry about the tape. Even if it got an A, it would sell for a premium later based on how good the front presents.

Thanks John. I did get it for the higher side of a 2 price. I had no trouble pulling the trigger on it.
