Maybe this shouldn't be posted in this section, but Dawn Wells (Mary Ann of Gilligans fame) has passed away due to complications due to Covid 19. 2020 just won't quit with the terrible news.

This is sad news. Despite all my sports autos, one of my favorite signatures is a Dawn Wells. It was obtained in person in Philly, she was signing as part of fund raising work for an animal related cause she championed. It's an 8x11 black and white of her in the famous Gilligan's Island halter top and shorts, with the inscription "To Trent- Rescue Me". I always argued Mary Ann>Ginger! Rest in peace, Ms. Wells.

The question was always:
Ginger or Mary Ann? My answer was ALWAYS Mary Ann. Ginger is the only one still with us. Rest in Peace Pretty Lady: Dawn-Wells.jpg

Both were very cool, but for me it was Ginger.

Always always Mary Ann.
The firm I used to work for had its offices on the East side of Manhattan. A watering hole across the street from the firm had a bar that we used to frequent often. One day one of my colleagues pointed out the older lady at the other end of the bar, obviously wearing a large wig precariously balanced on top of her head, makeup not quite right, seemingly pretty juiced. I had seen her many times before. Tina Louise. She was apparently an amiable sort, but the whole scene struck me as pretty sad. Said hello to her once and she was pleasant. Very wasted though. Didn't realize she was still alive. Hope she is happy and doing well. Last edited by Snapolit1; 12-30-2020 at 06:03 PM. |
