Nice thread title, huh? No one cares, but here's the deal. Just went through major surgery to repair a completely torn rotator cuff as well as other complications, so I'm looking to raise money to help pay for it all. The last thing I want to do is sell my stuff, but that's where I am. (My recovery is going fine.) Sold various cards from my bucket after posting a different thread, but this one now includes asking prices. Woo frickin' hoo.
Here are the 'rules'... 1. Some of these items may be overpriced, so offers are welcome. This isn't a charity case, but please remember it is a fundraiser. I don't want to go too much lower than my prices unless you can convince me my price is plain stupid. Ha ha. 2. Sold something recently that turned out to be way underpriced and someone who was a stranger to me gobbled it up (transaction went swimmingly), but other members who I 'enjoy' contacted me saying they would have loved to buy it had they known it was available. Long story even longer, if I get multiple people wishing to buy the same card, I will give it to the guy I'm friendly with. Hope there isn't a problem with that. 3. Postage is TBD based on what works best for the buyer. PWE for the ungraded cards would be best for me, as one-arming the post office is not something I wish upon anyone...as is trying to eat fried chicken, but that's a tale for another day. 4. Payment is the usual PPFF or add 3% for G & S. 5. I'd like to avoid any chance of someone wanting to return a card, so please ask as many questions as you need to in advance. Scans tell a lot, but they also hide a great deal. 6. Any offers, questions, etc., please just send PMs, as I'll be stuck in doctors' offices night and day this week and will be better able to retrieve messages that way. Each card listed here is truly an archetypal, important card. No joke!! • First up, 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan RC, a pretty decently centered PSA 4, which is a rarity. Price: $1200 ![]() • REMOVED • Here is one of the toughest-to-find cards in the Mantle canon, 1967 Laughlin World Series #61 WITH the address on back. The 'Without Address' reprint versions sell for hundreds of dollars apiece, and they were issued years after Mantle's career was over. This complete rarity was printed/distributed in late 1967/early 1968 while The Mick was still donning pinstripes in The Bronx. It is the only Laughlin card actually issued while he was still an active player, so don't be fooled by the cheaper 'Without Address' versions. It has a blatant crease running across the top, but beggars can't be choosers. Truly...try to find another one! Price: $400 ![]() • An awesome card showing a pair of HOF'ers with their big-star teammates, 1964 Topps #331 A.L. Bombers. It has jumped on the Mantle elevator, with prices rising. The last PSA 6 sales have been $275, $290, $350 and $240. REMOVED • A PSA 10 at the height of his incredible career, 1973 Kellogg's #16 Nolan Ryan. Recent prices have gone all the way up to $600. Price: $450 ![]() And now for the incredibly tough, ungraded portion of our show. • It's in very rough shape, has tape stains, but it's an original Mantle card, so it'll keep going up in value, 1964 Topps #50 Mickey Mantle. Price: $110 SOLD! • This one measures out top-to-bottom (although obviously miscut), but is a hair thin side-to-side. Could be natural, but assume it was chopped by someone, so you don't play the fool. Overall, pretty decent with some minor surface issues, but heck, it's an original Reggie rookie!! 1969 Topps #260 Reggie Jackson. Price: $75 • Since a sliver of white shows on the left side, this 1972 Topps #195 Julius Erving Rookie Card probably isn't considered technically 'miscut,' but it is what it is. (Edited to add: actually, since the back is miscut, this card IS technically miscut. Sorry for the error.) His cards have gone batsh*t crazy with prices flying through the roof, so I'm just going to leave this one open to (hopefully big) offers. Price: make offer • Everyone's favorite catcher in 'well-loved' condition, 1968 Topps #247 Johnny Bench Rookie Card. Surface issues with some scratchy areas and whatnot, but it looks pretty decent in the scan. Best part is, this card is the coveted "tne" error version, which is rare. Price: $125 • Arguably the key to the super tough 1972 high number football set, 1972 Topps #343 Joe Namath Pro Action. This is a well centered, beautiful card with just a tiny bump in the 'ACTION' corner. Price: $150 • And finally, one of the most sought after cards of the 1970's, 1975 Topps #228 George Brett Rookie Card. It's a really nice example for a mid-grade collector, with some corner wear, but seriously sharp focus. Definitely nothing to sneeze at (or charge the mound at?). Price: $60. SOLD! ![]() ![]() Have at it!! Hope I make some sales!! Input is welcome via PM. Thanks for the look.

Sorry, everybody, the 1975 Brett Rookie is gawn (as my friends back home would say). It was gobbled up barely a minute after the thread went up, and he's a great guy, so I'm happy to send George his way.
Plenty of other stuff still available...

By request, tilted-in-the-light pics to show the general 'Dr. J' RC surface appearance and the tiny, straight print anomaly/groove/raised area? in the black border to the left of his shooting hand (not seen on back)...
