Default 1920 TSN bound volume - Black Sox etc SOLD

53 issues of The Sporting News from Jan 1, 1920 thru Dec 30, 1920.

Great condition, although understandably fragile. I have looked thru much of the book and have found no issues.

Ruth sold.

Black Sox trial.

Chapman death.

Etc.

Etc.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/143775968620

Will sell to board member for less than on ebay, make me an offer.

I have over 4000 issues of TSN dating back to 1888, and have failed at selling them all in one group, so I am not going to split them up. Probably year by year. Interested in any offers, but NOT for individual issues, or any other sort of "cherry picking". My goal is to open up more space in my office, while not losing a fortune on the sale (similar to when I sold my Topps collection a few years ago).

While there will, in my opinion, be room for profit for those who might care to flip, this is not a fire sale, I am selling because I want to, not because I "need" to.

That having been said, the more you buy the better deal I would be will to extend.

Doug

very cool Doug!

I like the article you showed on Coveleskie from 1920
" ... there is no question about Coveleskie's place in the Hall of Fame..."

I didn't realize there were talks of a HOF in 1920, since the first voting wasn't until over a decade later. And Coveleskie wouldn't get in until 1969.

I started collecting TSN issues as a way to date my scored scorecards and programs, but the more I looked at them the more I started to love them on their own for that type of content. It puts you in the moment.

I never knew that the Babe didn't want to leave Boston...
