1989 Fleer Jordan Image Error

Just noticed this after all these years and now I can't unsee it.

Top 40% of the image has a dark shade over it. It's on all of them.
Looks like an exposure mask to highlight the bottom half of the card.
Poorly executed.

Interesting. Never noticed it either. Looked at this card 1000x. Thanks for explaining why they attempt to do that. Yeah half his arm is in the dark!

Yep, just bought one recently, and noticed that right away. Clearly some error in printing.

This has bothered me since I pulled this card from a pack when I was 12 years old. I'm 42 now.
