Hello all. I’m starting my 1973 topps set run and purchased a lot and most of the cards are curved. I figured I could just use weight to push them back down. Laying them down facing straight up and putting weight on them.
Anybody else have any suggestions ? Last edited by Elberson; 04-29-2020 at 05:43 PM. |

If the cards are curved beyond that, moisture, at some point was prevalent where they were stored and temps were not optimal. Cards in attics fare better than basements. What to do? Nothing. If you want them flat, put a paper towel over them and press an iron on them Once they're hot, put them in a very heavy book or between 2 significant objects for an hour. They must be hot though. Personally, I don't recommend it--unless the curve is truly excessive.

Storing them in binders or semi rigid toploaders will help.

Yep, binders will flatten em pretty easy
Ever notice that the 1963 Topps are by far the "curviest"? Something in the paper that year? Always wondered...

Ok, thanks for the advise, as of now, I put them all in penny sleeves and 1600 count box, than stood the box up and added weight to them, I’ll leave it like that for a couple of more days, than see where i’m at. The only thing that bothers me is not being able to sort and make a want list of my needs lol
