WTB Low End 1955 Bowman Mantle

Looking for a 1955 Bowman Mickey Mantle.


I'm essentially looking for a "PSA 1 or 2"-ish or even lower example.
Raw is preferable, but graded is fine if I can get the right price.

I'm not looking for a true "beater" in that sense, but something with some condition issues that still has a bit of eye appeal.


NOTE - I don't mind and actually expect light creasing, wrinkles and of course some chipping and corner damage is acceptable, as long as it doesn't entirely eradicate any semblance of eye appeal.
I *DO* want to steer clear of holes and pinholes if possible.
Centering doesn't have to be perfect, but I don't want a badly mis-cut type look either.


This is going in a framed PC piece, so its more about a worn/but decent "presentation" look since it will be on display.

This one is not for sale, but I am thinking that you are looking for something along the lines of this type in particular based upon what you wrote that you are looking for. I am working on completing the 1955 Bowman set and am down to 93 cards to go. I am not worried about the condition being pristine as you can clearly see.

Yes, although I am looking for something with a bit better eye appeal if possible. (actually, your corners don't bother me a bit for my project, but I am looking to avoid large creases in the middle if I can)

I see examples on Ebay in the $160-$180 range that are close to what I am looking for, and I don't mind something approaching that price range also.
It seems like most are really rough, or are $250+.
I have 1-2 I'm thinking about, but was looking to see if I could snag one from a board member first, before going the Ebay route.

Its obviously for a "PC piece", and will never go anywhere. I essentially wanted some lower end examples to enjoy, instead of higher $$$ cards tucked away somewhere that I couldn't enjoy visually (as often) nearly as much.

I have been working on that "project" for nearly a year. I could have finished it by now, but a few other life issues slowed me down, plus I was looking at snagging the "right example".
I explain that project in more detail there.

If anyone here has a low end '55 Mick with solid eye appeal, I am definitely interested in getting something soon.

Hey! Was just curious if you would be interested in something that would be closer to a 3-4.5? Card is raw, but edges are sharp (have their chips/dings though). Getting home from school in a few days and can take clearer pics then... but have a few I can send now.

With all the "mess" going on in the world, I hadn't paid attention.

I have already picked up a '55 Bowman for what I have been working on.
