Offering up one of the very rarest Brooklyn Dodgers Pennants, circa 1951. This seldom-seen 3/4 pennant features an attractive game scene, and names of the key Dodgers' players within the Bunting! Based on the combination of included names, this pennant is from 1951.
HOF Players include Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella and Duke Snider. Other star players listed include Gil Hodges, Carl Furillo, Preacher Roe, Carl Erskine, Ralph Branca, Don Newcombe and Cal Abrams. This is a rare and desirable Brooklyn Pennant which turns up maybe once or twice a decade. Rare opportunity for the Dodgers Fan or Vintage Pennant Collector to snag it here (as opposed to Catalogue Auction). Condition is EX+ with expected surface wear. Typical tack holes, but no noteworthy flaws, and will display beautifully. $485 Last edited by perezfan; 02-06-2020 at 03:40 PM. |

Mark,
Is the red more scarce then the blue version? |

That's a great question! I have only seen one example of each color (ever), so I suppose it's a tie?
Seriously though, I'd assume it's equally rare in blue as in red. You'd think that blue might be the more common (being the Dodgers' base color), but it seems this one never really got into mass production in either color. ![]() |

Gorgeous, Jay!
Ok.... now that yours is "out there", I would say that blue is more common (by a 2:1 ratio). Just kidding of course... with such a small "sample size" we will never really know. But suffice it to say both versions are beautiful and rare! |

Beautiful pennant Mark. I've always loved this unusual design.

Many thanks Adam... yes, a great combination of unique design and rarity.
I can knock off another $40, but that's it (for those who've expressed interest). So $445 + $11 flat shipping is the rock-bottom. |
