Hi All,
Can anyone provide me with some pricing insight into this autograph? It's Sergei Belov, of Russian basketball and the 1972 Olympics fame. He's in the basketball Hall of Fame, but I am not able to find any sold examples or even up for up sale examples of his signature. Does anyone else here own one or have they seen any sell any time recently? Any help is much appreciated.

There's one listed at Worthpoint that matches yours, but I don't have a subscription so I cant tell you what it sold for.

We have one in our inventory and from memory, although they seem to be quite rare, they do not command much. I believe when I researched it, they would command under $100.

Belov is a tough one to price. Yes, he is a hall of famer, but except for a completist very few people would want him. The only member of his HOF class that did not show up for his induction. Even Nera White came that year and that was a surprise considering her personality/anxiety issues. I went to the HOF every year from 1988 to 2004 and he was one of the few who did not show. He automatically became a desirable signature. He signed some postal covers for the Hall which I understood sold out very quickly. I do not believe he ever visited the hall during induction time. In the 1990's some probable forgeries of his signature started floating around. The $100 stated is probably a reasonable expectation. Knowing this came from that OCD Canadian collector helps with the legitimacy of it. FYI: Belov is the one who scored the winning basket in the 1972 gold medal game at the Olympics in Munich.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Its always difficult to price out the autographs that are hard to find examples of. It sounds like I may just need to list this one for sale at a higher price and try to field offers on it and take my time in selling it, in that it likely has a pretty narrow market and wouldn't be a good target for an auction. Thanks again, I really appreciate those that took the time to weigh in.
