Found a card on eBay (still active, so I won't out it) that I'd really like to have. But it's listed as a private sale and had more than 50 bids within the first 24 hours, the vast majority raising the bidding increment by one step. The card is legit (slabbed, everything checks out, looks good), but it just seems hinky to do an auction that way. If the seller shilled it up to his/her reserve, it's silly because the card would likely go that high anyway.
Anyway, as a buyer, I feel a little more cautious on bidding on something like this, not sure why they set it as a private sale... Also had the experience this weekend of receiving an email that a card had been delivered. Exactly one minute later, the seller sent an email requesting that I leave feedback. I had a great experience, but shouldn't a seller give a buyer enough time to maybe open the package? :P |
