Hey Net54 gang -
My mom gave this cabinet for my bday after she found it in the attic. The guy on the left is my great grandfather John Sholden who played minor league ball. Looks like the uniforms say "Millmen 423" I was curious if anyone had any additional thoughts or knowledge on the photo. Do any of the other players stand out as players who ever made it to the pros? The back is dated from 1908. Thanks for your thoughts as I look to uncover more information about this piece and my great grandfather. Best, Taylor |

I can't add any info but I wanted to say that having a baseball photo like this of your great-grandfather is just awesome. What a great gift!

Attic. Check box.
Where I live few people have attics. Hence there is never a cool discovery anywhere near me. Nice piece. |

I believe that millmen 423 maybe denotes the trade and local union in San Francisco they were members of.

I was googling some of the less common last names in the picture such Bemis and Elezalda. Looks like there was a Harry Bemis playing for the Naps around the same time and a Elezalda who was on a team called the Pacifies. See link here: https://cdnc.ucr.edu/?a=d&d=LAH19000...-txIN--------1 Appreciate the help and any other info people can conjure up! Best, Taylor |

Thanks for sharing Taylor. I was able to pick up this cabinet of my great grandfather Stephen Walling (top 2nd from the left) who played on the Phoenix Cheese Factory baseball team in South Edmeston, NY on eBay several years back.
