| 1947 Morley Studios Tacoma Tigers

These are a couple of years after our regular years in this section but close enough for govt. work. WE just don't see these every day and I think that is part of the intrigue for me... These are recently added to my burgeoning second collection. Size is approx 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches, though at least one of these is trimmed

I have always loved the Morley Studios set, in reality they are a Bread Issue as Jordan's was a Bread Company. They should be a D-designation in the ACC. I am missing 4 for the set and have a lead on 3 of those but would love to pick up the Tinsley as that may be the last one I need (if anyone happened to have one laying around). Seen far less frequently are the RPPC Team Postcards made for the various teams in the Western International League in 1947...

| More Morleys

As Rhett said, the 1946 Morley team RPPCs surface very infrequently. There is also a very attractive set of individual player PCs from 1946 (see picture below). Toughest of all in my experience is the 1948 multi-player postcard-sized, blank back set ( sample also pictured below). The envelope for the 1947 cards is nice (and tough!) too, and addresses Rhett's comment about how they were issued and distributed |
