Default My collection in my will

So here's a can of worms. My children do not want my collection. I told my wife many times that upon my death sell it. I am 57 and my health is fine. Here's my can of worms question- what auction house? I say auction house because I would want it sold fast and easy. Maybe I am wrong with an auction? But I think that is the way to go.

i had a large collection I had to dispose of a few years ago and I broke it among several auction houses. Needed to do it with some speed.

I am same age, similar situation. I am hoping to retire at 63 or 64 and plan to spend ten years liquidating my collection at as close to retail as I can get. My son actually is interested in my collection, but I would never leave it to him. The fun is only in a small part in owning the cards. It is in acquiring them and the friends you make along the way and the adventures you find.

My collection is willed to my son with specific instructions. Sell it for whatever you can and waste the money on something fun and amazing.

To me, the value of the collection was in the fun I had assembling it. When I die, that dies with me.

It matters little if my collection could be sold for $75k with a lot of work, or $40k to some dealer. It's all free money for my son.

If my collection turns into an incredible trip or unforgettable party for him, then we all win.
