Hi All:
I thought this has been discussed here before, but I have not been able to turn up any previous posts in searching. Does anyone have info on 1952 Bowman's with a Heritage Radio show as pictured below? If so please share what you have or know. Thanks! |

I believe this is one of a number of counterfeits found with this font. I've seen them at the National offered raw from a few shady 'sell it all and don't ask questions' dealers, along with decent fakes from some prewar sets.

This may be neither here nor there, but the use of EST and putting it inside stylish, 'thin' parentheses immediately jumps out at me. I have no facts to support it, but it just looks wrong and probably anachronistic. Plus, they probably would have used "P.M." with periods.

Here's my red flag.
If it was on a baseball card....baseball is played in the summer....during Daylight Saving Time It should be EDT not EST Any self-respecting broadcaster would know that |

If it helps, the radio show aired from December 11, 1952 through October 8, 1953, so I'm unclear how it would have made it on any 1952 Bowman cards.

FWIW, a few issues of Life Magazine from January to March 1953 had an ad for the radio show in the back of the magazines, it's the same word for word and appears to me to be the same font. Out of curiosity, what is on the flip side of the card?
