As far as I know, MAB puts certs on balls signed right in front of them.

I'll echo that I believe everything is signed in front of a staff member. Also, I've been to their HOF show and it's run very well.

I was interviewed by the writer, Jake Rossen, yet not one line from my interview made the article. I gave him plenty of good information. All he seemed interested in was dirt and mistakes. He kept asking about the same old mistake stories we've all seen repeated numerous times. He wasn't interested in hearing about when authenticators do it right. I know a few others who had the same experience... they didn't make the article either.

I am not stating that the process cannot be done correctly to ensure authenticity but the current practice at the shows I attend leaves room for error.
