Default ~1915 Cracker Jack Trolley Sign (Ended - moved to fall REA)

UPDATE: Sorry for troubling people with this listing. I have decided to send the sign to REA for the fall auction. I am too nervous about not enough people seeing it here. Thanks for the interest - I hope anyone who was thinking of bidding here will still be interested in bidding this fall.

=============

I have posted this a few times and gotten really strong responses, so I thought I would see how this goes.

Up for auction is a circa 1915 Cracker Jack sign that was used in trolley cars. This is only the third one of these I have seen. It measures 11" x 21".

Fun to note that the box on this sign is identical to the box in the famous posters with the baseball cards (image included, though definitely not mine).

This piece has great eye appeal but is a survivor and was clearly used. I have taken some close ups and you can click the link for higher resolution photos. There is in-painting, some chipping, some cracking, and the piece is a bit wavy from whatever liquid shows up on the back, but the front is still remarkably complete and presents very well. The colors are better than they appear in the photos - I will try to get some better ones later today.

Bids include shipping and insurance.

The opening bid is $1500. Bid increments of at least $50.

The auction ends Sunday, July 1 at 9 pm Central.

(That is 7:00 pm WST, 8:00 pm MT, 9:00 pm CST, and 10:00 pm EST).

SLIGHT FORMAT CHANGE: Because this is a high-dollar item for a bst auction (gotta try something new, right?), I am going to add extended bidding in 5-minute intervals. If a bid is placed between 8:55-9:00 pm CST I will add 5 minutes to the auction (bids accepted at 9:05 pm, 9:06 pm is too late), if there is another bid between 9:00 and 9:05, the new close will be 9:10 pm), etc. etc.

A bid placed a 9 pm CST counts, a bid place at 9:01 pm CST is too late.

Thanks for looking.
