I've done it many times. I had been looking for the particular mini for many years and was able to get a damaged one for 100 bucks. A "good" one might have been 4-5x that if I could even find one. I use Durham's rock hard water putty. It's easy to use, sands easily and dries (as you might imagine) rock hard. I use 99 cent craft paint which can be mixed if needed to get the right color (note: matte finish is shown but you would want gloss). A chip on a cap brim could even be repaired with spackling compound or drywall joint compound. The "purists" might pooh pooh my repairs but oh well.

Wow thanks! This one is an early sixties Mantle but is kind of pricy the chipped cap. Mainly the brim looks like. What would you say it is worth given the rest looks pretty decent? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mickey’s not the rarest of the four character dolls. With a chipped cap, assuming everything else is good, you ought to be able to pick him up for maybe $250. Check completed sales on ebay. There’s plenty.
