I'm no Mosconi autograph expert, but a friend was selling two photos from the Hustler that has Mosconi's name inked on the back, as Mosconi autographs, and I told him they were just notations, not Mosconi autographs.

He was insistent that they were early versions of his autograph and that the person who sold them to him had photos of himself with Mosconi, implying that this person got them hand-signed by Mosconi, so I dropped it.

You’re correct. Just a notation. Definitely not Mosconi’s signature.

It's not hard to dig up examples of older Mosconi signatures with a simple Google search.

Don't see how it could be possible that's anything other then a notation.

I did not reply as I have no experience with Mosconi autographs. As an autograph collector it strikes me strange that he would sign the back of the photos, thought I know it does happen.

I was just looking for validation of my thoughts, as it was a friend selling it and I thought maybe I was missing something.
