I've been playing around with some checklists and pop reports lately, just for fun, and I got to wondering how many of these Obak cabinets are actually known.
In theory all 175 of the 1911 Obak players were made available as cabinets, and yet looking at the readily available sources - TPG POP reports, Ebay, VCP, and major auction house archives - verifies only 37 different players. The SCD checklist offers 30 more, and it's not that I doubt most or all of these exist, but I don't have visual verification. That still leaves over 100 completely unconfirmed. If you have any not listed here and feel inclined to let me know, I will keep a tally of who's confirmed and report the results I get. CONFIRMED BY ME Ables Annis Baum Berry Bloomfield Burrell Carlisle Carson Christian Daley Dillon Garrett Hitt Hogan Householder Kane Kuhn Maggert McCredie Meikle Melchior Miller Moskiman Patterson Raleigh Ryan Schmidt Shaw Sheehan Smith, H. Stewart Stinson Sutor Vitt Weaver Wiggs Willett ADDITIONAL PLAYERS LISTED IN SCD Brackenridge Browning Chadbourne Cutshaw Danzig Dashwood Delhi Fitzgerald Flater Howard Madden McDonnell Mitze Mohler Mundorff Peckinpaugh Powell Rapps Raymond Rodgers Ryan, J. (Portland) Shinn Spencer Tennant Thomas (Sacramento) Tiedeman Tozer Wheeler Zacher Zamlock |

Just to help (or muddy the waters), there are two known poses for Buck Weaver. A new one was auctioned in Heritage, I think it was last year.

Hi Tim,
Your lists would be much easier to cope with if the coupon number is inserted before the player's name (as SCD listed) or his team is added. 35 ables oakland 140 annis tacoma 59 baum sacramento etc. SCD confirms these cabinets and others you have listed do exist. But your confirmed list means you have a picture of each of those player's cabinets - correct? In the past I've attempted to explore the T4 set here to find any of these cabinets that may exist but were not listed and got as much information as you have received. 86 Weaver SF has three variations. |

Nice effort so far, Tim. Scarcely seen issues are sometimes only scarcely collected as sets, as you well know. Good luck in the quest!! .
