Well, for starters, I collect classic Thunderbirds. This 1957 is a "rare bird", it's powered by a 312 Cubic-inch V-8. It's trans is a 3-speed floor shift with Overdrive.
With the Willow Green color, only 150 such T-Birds were produced out of a total of 24,000 T-Birds in 1957.






And, here is my 1960 T-Bird (4-seater) that boasts a 352 Cubic-inch engine with 10.5 to 1 compression ratio. Both these cars have 4-barrel Holley carburetors
which are fun (and challenging) to rebuild. Which I did often because of this crappy ethanol gas. In recent years, I've gotten smarter since I get aircraft fuel at
a nearby airport.





I'm also an avid LIONEL train collector.


And, I play 2 hours (singles) of Tennis 2 days of every week. Also, I have laid out a grass tennis court in my back yard (which I practice on regularly).

Nice cars. I havent gotten into the classic cars yet. It wont be long though as im craving some old fashioned American muscle to pair with my new fashioned American muscle

To the question at hand, the only other collecting I do on even a semi regular basis is Silver and Golden age comics. My current project that I add to maybe twice a year is a Amazing Spiderman run of 1-51.

I am also into cars, More specifically, muscle cars. I own a 1968 Beaumont SD 396. It is basically the same as a Chevelle but built and sold in Canada. There were 702 built and it is estimated that there are 70 to 100 left.

Cool cars guys. I don't have a pic of mine, it has been in storage for a few years now because I got too stupid to drive it somewhat normally. I have a 1983 Porsche 944 with every go fast upgrade imaginable on it. Because it has been sitting I need to change the timing/balance shaft belts before it can be started.

This is a few pics of a friends muscle car right before it was finished a few months ago. Yes that hillbilly really used a Busch Light beer can as a radiator overflow container. It has around 600hp and is really fun to drive.

I believe I have some hoarder in me. Over the years i have collected a little bit of everything. I really need to get rid of a ton of stuff but rarely sell and keep buying stuff i really do not need. I think most of us can relate to that.

Here is my Ninja. Because it is so easy to get hurt on it i am smart enought to keep it at or under the speed limit. A small fraction of the action figures, salt/pepper shakers, and other small junk I collect. Lets not forget the guitars i have not picked up in about a year.

Another packrat here. In addition to baseball cards and hobby publications, I also collect nonsport N and T cards (of which I have a couple thousand or so), 19th century advertising trade cards (of which I have an estimated 5000, maybe more), and tabletop baseball games (of which I have a closet full). I also have over 5000 books, though that's not really a collection in the same sense, because I read a lot of them and use them for reference. I also go to a lot of theater, mainly in Chicago (where I live) and London (where I usually go once a year or so), and I used to study and perform improv back in the day (15-20 years ago) before giving it up because I didn't have the necessary time to devote to it. I also do a lot of research and writing on Shakespeare and Elizabethan theater history, which I guess counts as a hobby since I (mostly) don't get paid for it.

I've come across some of those diving in the South Pacific- some have darts they throw out with venom. Never pick one up. Wish I'd gotten to see that collection when I was at your house Jay, they look pretty spectacular.


Besides cards I travel a lot, typically developing countries, about half the time on scuba trips. While photography is my work at home (for advertising purposes) my hobby is travel and underwater photography. Eventually those images make it to my instagram account, @anthonynex

Right now, my main hobby is Rubik's Cube speedsolving and puzzle collecting. I've solved the cube in 29 seconds and have a collection of roughly 70 puzzles of various shapes and sizes.

Besides being an avid Bass fisherman, I walk the local countryside hunting American Indian artifacts. My grandfather hunted them and taught my father how to find them. My father taught me as well when I was a little boy. 40+ years later and I'm still out there looking for them.

Below are a couple photos I took last year of one of my finds. These are called "insitu" photos and you can see exactly what I see when I find an artifact before picking them up. One photo is from my point of view and the second is a close up.

I used to dabble a little bit in collecting currency. These days, I really only look for small-size National Banknotes for a few select banks, mainly in RI. It's been a long time since I could add anything to that collection, so that's why my focused shifted back to my T206 Providence collection.

I am also into cars, although this hasn't moved in 15 years due to a cooked motor. I also boat, fish, tube, water ski and have a summer escape I try to get to as much as possible in the summer.

I use to ATV and dirt bike (this one is sold I believe?) and I am currently still an avid snowmobiler.
Aside from those I am also an assistant coach and hockey trainer for my son's hockey team, which keeps me fairly busy at times!

Most mechanical work I try and do myself, including work on my vehicles, snowmobiles, etc plus I also do a little on the side for some of my friends.

I am hoping to retire in less than 2 yrs, and I am looking forward to it! I currently work at Darlington Nuclear plant and have been here close to 35 yrs now. I started when I was 18 and I am currently 53. Freedom 55 is looking really good!

I am also a woodworker. I design and build custom furniture and have done projects as small as keepsake boxes to an entire set of custom kitchen cabinets. Most of my project designs and builds are dressers, chests of drawers and tables though.

Over the past couple of years I have become primarily a hand tool woodworker, I do use a table saw and band saw for some tasks such as breaking down rough stock, but I would say 95% of my work is now done with hand tools including all of the joinery in the two pieces I built below.

I have a plan to build all the furniture in my house myself, and I work on those projects between projects family members ask for and commissions for friends or word of mouth referrals from previous customers.

I've been competing in a group of about 100 people since 2007 and have finished 1st in football 3 of those years and 1st in March Madness two of those years (plus a 2nd place finish the year 8 seed Kentucky played 7 seed UConn in the final). The profits mostly come back here to my primary hobby.

I mill my own wood with a chainsaw and build custom furniture and hand carve decorative designs on them. Thinking of making a custom sports card area with work area/desk, cabinets with drawers and displays.....

One more I made this Wine Rack for over the sink using Red Oak. My wife switch the stove/oven ( Down Draft) to the center island from the wall ,so she could watch TV

Frame off restoration with my son. We started when he was 14 and finished when he got his drivers license. The only things original on the 87 YJ were the body and the AMC straight six . We deep sixed the FRENCH Transnition. My son did most of the work

I forgot to mention of my most enduring hobby.....Stamp collecting. My collection consists of postage from almost every country.
Recent years, I have specialized more on U.S. stamps (also uncut sheets), and British Colonials. Here is an example of the latter:

Pitcairn Islands was uninhabited until 1790, when the mutineers of British ship the "Bounty" sought refuge on these Islands. This
set of 10 stamps was issued in 1940 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of that famous event.




I think I learned more about World History and Geography from stamp collecting than I did in in school.

Weird/funny story on that. When I was young I played the violin for a few years, I played right handed. Several years ago when I decided to try guitar I bought that cheap red Maestro. For some reason my fingers would just not move properly in the different playing position. I turned it into a lefty and it worked for me. So after I decided I liked playing guitar I bought real left handed guitars. In that pic I had just turned the Maestro back into a righty before I sold it, I still have the other 3.

Good job starting them young! I try to get my son involved as much as possible but it's getting harder and harder as he ages. With school, friends and his girlfriend, there never seems to be much time left.
I told him 4 yrs ago (when he was 12) when I gave him my old snowmobile, it is up to you to look after it and maintain it. We haven't sledded much in the last few years due to the lack of snow, but he knows that is still the case if that changes.

Online. I ordered the NYC SKYLINE puzzle from Walmart.com and picked it up in store a couple days later. The Keith Haring puzzle was recycled from another monster puzzler who finished his up, took it apart and offered it to other puzzlers who wanted the challenge. These two are made by a company called Ravensberger. They now have a 40k puzzle available.

OK, just one more of my hobbies....I think you'll find this story quite interesting.

I won this Pin-Ball in an auction in 1987. Did not cost me much, as it was in need of repair. Took it apart, loaded it into a Ryder U-Haul truck and drove it 80 miles to my home in Toms River, NJ.
I put my EE mind to work and got it fully operational. For 30 years it has provided my family and friends many hours of enjoyment. It is the very same Pin Ball machines us "dinosaurs" spent all
our nickels on at the Boardwalk Arcades at the Jersey shore playing them for hours and hours back in the 1950's and 1960's.

This machine is considered the "Babe Ruth" model of BB Pin-Ball machines. You get Three Outs and the choice of 3 batting speeds. However, you can score a lot of runs in that inning due to all
the "premium targets" you can aim for. The highest scoring one.....SUPER HOMER.....is a 50-Run target, which has been hit only 6 times in 30 years. Another neat feature of this game are the
plastic players running around the bases with respect to the Hits.

Over the years, several of the Net54 members (or readers) have played my machine and here are some of their scores....

Mark Macrae....502 runs

Pat R....355 runs

Ron Peterson....303 runs (my Grandson, then age 6)
