Unidentified Autos: 1926 Reds & 1952 Hockey

Well, these are a few of the recent acquisitions that are driving me crazy...

Both of these are from an autograph book that included 1950 Senators autographs (baseball) and 1952 AHL hockey autographs. The first page looks like "Sid Dyer - 1926 Reds" but unless I'm just way too tired right now, I can't find this name and am not familiar with it. For the second item, there are two autographs that were right next to Bun Cook on the other side - the last names look similar but I can't find anyone on the hockey database that year (AHL or NHL that match.

Any help identifying these would be greatly appreciated!

The hockey players are George and Charles Homenuke. I could read most of the last name for Charlie so it was easier.

I think the baseball one might be Sidney Dyer, listed on Baseball Reference for the same time period as a minor league player. However, it does not look like he ever played in the pros - interesting inscription.

The interesting thing about George Homenuke is that he has a death certificate in the U.S. Social Security Index though he died in Burnaby, British Columbia. His obituary was in the Vancouver Sun. He was of Ukranian descent. At one time he had the fastest shot in pro hockey at 92 mph. After working for Gulf Oil for 30 years he and his wife drove around the U.S. and Canada in their mobile home. His brother predeceased him.

If he was receiving retirement benefits from the US, it would make sense that his death is on the master file. They likely received and annotated the proof to end benefits and then the public record became available.

Interesting story about him though, it is always neat to hear things about some of the more obscure athletes.
