Thank you. Wow, did not know the M116's depicted minor league players. Guess will have to keep looking for a major league team card of his... Maybe 1914 Baseball Magazine Boston Braves team picture?!?

Jim, I believe the PSA flip is in error. Long Tom Hughes never played for Rochester, per baseball-reference.com. I believe the Sporting Life card David showed above is of "Salida" Tom Hughes, who did play for Rochester from 1911 until 1914. Per VCP, there are only a couple of cards of "Long" Tom Hughes, the easiest to find by far being his E91-C American Caramel card, which shows him with the Senators - there are a couple of these currently for sale on eBay.

Also 1917 Merchants Bakery & Weil Baking cards of WaJo. Also E222 cards of Lipe, Revelle & Ryan. Last edited by ValKehl; 08-31-2017 at 09:00 PM. |

I agree that the above M116 should not have been labeled "Long" Tom Hughes but should read Tom Hughes. It is the same Tom Hughes (I think) as is my C-46 Hughes who threw a no-no for Boston Braves. What I was hoping for is the M116 showing him playing for Boston and not Rochester.
