My son asked me this last night and I think I know the answer but I am apprehensive.
What is the last mainstream release to have gum in the packs? My guess is 2007 Topps Heritage, is there one I am forgetting?

Justin--You can get him some 2015 Heritage packs and show him what "gum stains" used to look like
![]() I know most folks avoid cards with gum stains or try to remove them, but I collect ungraded sets and like having a few gum stained cards in my sets. Last edited by ALR-bishop; 06-06-2017 at 08:58 AM. |

Al: I agree, I also like having gum stains on some of my vintage cards. I have about 10-12 gum stained cards in my 59 Fleer Ted Williams set. It gives the set character. ![]() Last edited by bnorth; 06-06-2017 at 11:25 AM. |

1991 topps was the real end of a era for gum. But yes Heritage brought it back for a year and the gum was in its own pack inside the pack. Ps the gum sucked

Anyone know if the 1991 gum was better than the 1976 gum chewed the same year? I can't recall...think I blacked out. ![]() .

Al - you wouldn't wish ill for a fellow 54 member would you?
I do, in fact, admit to consuming Topps Bubble Gum several years after it was put in packs...but that was when I was young and foolish... ...and I'm not young anymore... ![]() -

don't know about 91, but the 89 and 90 topps gums were pretty good. transformers in the morning, a pack of topps and a pouch of big chew gum at the store, going home to play tyson's punch-out on the NES...that was a great saturday!
