Bronze Horse Racing Sculpture - Help needed

A friend gave me the below bronze sculpture a number of years ago. The damm thing must weigh 30 pounds. Any ideas how I am can get it assessed without dragging it to one of those TV shows? The friend who gave it me is pretty well heeled so I suspect its somewhat valuable. Wouldn't be surprised to learn he bought it at Sotherbys.

Check the bottom for markings - manufacturer, artist, title , serial number. It may be one of a kind, but more likely a serialized issue. Start there. The only manufacturer that I know well is Winchester, but they do typically western horse themes. Please let me know what you find.

Nothing on the bottom, on the base is something scratched that looks like the artist name. See photo below. Look like "M. Erman" but not super clear.
