Technically not be right thread, I know but wanted some quick feedback on this card. Seems to be an early Musial in good condition for not a lot of money. Can anyone provide info on the card, value range if ligit and opinions on if real (or if I literally wasted $30)? Thank you in advance! DZ |

I am always suspect of the square corner versions althougth I have seen threads suggesting their was a square corner set that existed but the color of the card stock on the back looks wrong to me.

Can the OP file a "not as described" complaint, since (if the feedback above is correct) it's not a 1947 Bond Bread Musial?

I think it's somewhere between good and not good depending on how you look at it. It is most likely oldish, just not 1947. These have been around the hobby for decades and sort of have their own place. It is not something like, for instance, a Helmar card that is contrived to look old. That's my opinion anyway. Would have I paid $30 for it? No. If I were a big Musial fan and liked the card, I would not lose any sleep over it.
Of course there is always the possibility based on the poor photo that it's a true fake, but I doubt it. JMO. |

The same printing press theory exists for the Fro Joy cards too. That is why grading companies don't like to grade them, so I have heard.
