Good morning all,
I was perusing the HA "Sunday Sports" auctions last night and noticed this "card": https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...151639-44005.s It's listed as a 1922 issue, but shows a 1924 schedule on back. These types of items aren't in my wheelhouse (I didn't bid), but I realized I hadn't seen one before. Just wondering if anyone had some info - I searched here and saw that Leon had something similar, but the back featured a different advertisement. Edited to add: my subject should read "exactly how rare are these" Last edited by arcadekrazy; 09-26-2016 at 09:42 AM. |

It used to be mine and is the only one I have seen like it in 20 yrs....I think it's rare.

Thanks Leon - I guess given their rarity, responses to this thread will be just as rare.

The only one I have ever seen is/was Leon's example. And by the way, the W575 set has some great images and is underrated in my opinion. I also think that they might have been issued in non-strip form, as I have seen plenty that look machine cut (to my untrained eye).

I've noticed that whenever I see a W-575-2, it usually has a photo I've never seen. This is quite a contrast to so many 1920s sets, which recycled the same photos again and again.

There are some cool photos. They didn't seem to care about using up to date images/team info either. Daubert last played for Brooklyn in 1918. There are other examples in the set with older images (Rixey/Philly, Marquard/Cinci). I placed a couple bids on the schedule card, but missed out. Here's a regular blank back Daubert of mine... ![]()

As I have not signed up for Heritage Auctions, I am hoping someone can provide the final hammer price of this card, as I am interested in learning how a piece like this translates to the value of the actual cards. Thanks, Ron

I think that is SO COOL ![]() - to be able to identify specific items up for sale as those you previously owned - speaks volumes on how rare the items actually are.

I like the images on the card. It reminds me of the Exhibit cards!

I saw a group of these at a small show in NJ and the seller had an original shipping envelope with them. But only way to get the envelope was to buy the group which I should have done. Just my 2 cents..
