Can somebody tell me why my pictures are fine in my gallery but when I upload them here they're always sideways

Try this. It works for me, but I don't know why:
Open the photo. Rotate the image and then close it. It's now ready to upload.

John I do that to all my photos I open them I rotate the left or right to make them up right then I upload them and they still come out sideways
