greetings Net54!
If you're not up for a long read, skip to the end for the footnotes version ![]() So I originally had this idea that I was going to try to buy up lots of mid grade cards from the mid 50s and then sell them individually on an ebay store. Well...sounded good on paper, but I vastly under-estimated how deep the vintage bug was gonna sink it's teeth into me. And I've definitely been bit by the vintage bug, LOL. I've picked up a few hundred cards from both Topps and Bowman and what I'm finding is that I'm very much enjoying picking up these cards and really not so much enjoying the idea of selling them. They're just so damn pretty and fun to go through and look at! So...I said "screw it...change of plans!" I decided that I'm gonna put my 'flipper' hat back on the shelf and just focus on the joy of collecting old vintage baseball cards as I'm really liking grabbing a stack of these things and going through them. In fact I found myself actually quite amused reading all of the little "You're the ump" or "True or False" things on the backs of the '55 Topps cards. I mentioned in the previous thread that I had up that I was looking to buy these for resale so I wanted to be paying less than ebay prices...well, since the first part of that statement is no longer the case, neither is the second ![]() sorry for the long read, I'm sure a lot of you have better things to do than read all of my incoherent ramblings, LOL. So all of that being said, I'm looking to pick up anything in VGEX or better shape from 52-56 Topps and 52-55 Bowman. Commons, stars, HOFers, raw, graded (actually prefer raw but w/e). So hopefully now that I'm not burdened with trying to get everything cheap so I can sell it on ebay I'll be able to find some great stuff here on Net 54 to add to my collection (collection sounds so much better than inventory, lol) I bought these two row boxes from BCW that are meant for graded cards. I find that they also very nicely hold the larger size semi-rigids which is what I store my cards in. so I've basically got one box for each product/year and I'm looking to fill em up! Sorry again for the long read and many thanks if you made it this far, lol. TL;DR - not looking to buy for resale anymore, just buying for my own personal collection so not concerned with trying to buy under ebay prices anymore. looking for VGEX or better 52-56 Topps and 52-55 Bowman lots raw or graded, commons, stars, HOF w/e. Thx!
