I am a huge baseball fan and card collector. My favorite items to collect are old Pittsburgh Pirates cards. So without further elaboration you could tell Honus Wagner cards are basically holy grails to me. I recently pulled the trigger on a beautiful E93 wagner, but I continue finding wagner daily that highly intrigue me and make me awe. My question is, if you were to collect honus cards with the sole purpose collecting and non-resale which wagner would you chose, my list is as follows:
1. T206 (obviously from its history) 2. Henry Reccius Wagner 3. W600 4. E107 5. Tip Top Bread/ D322 6. M110 7. Nadja Caramel E104-2 8. E90-2 9. My E93 - had to put it up here since it is my baby right now, I may be biased ![]() 10. E300 This is just my working list of ratings since I seem to find new ones daily that I love. Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were and pick all of your wise baseball minds! Thank you very much and everyone's input is very much appreciated! |

Always enjoyed the 48 leaf as it appeared to me as a child he was chewing tobacco, and hobby lore is/was he was anti-tobacco...or at least to marketing to kids.

I'd go with the Colgan's Chips--the 'poor man's T206'. Here are a few others that are generally within reach.

I would go with these as the cards that appeal the most to me:
E93 Standard Caramel E95 Philadelphia Caramel E135 Collins McCarthy E254 Colgan's Chips E-UNC Orange Border (close-up, not batting pose) M101-4/5 Sporting News, etc... M116 Sporting Life (blue background, but pastel not bad either) Here are scans (cards not mine) of a couple of the less common ones on the list: Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 02-20-2016 at 10:14 AM. Reason: almost forgot E93! |

The E103 is my only Wagner and my favorite since the T206 is obviously way out of reach. My other favorite Wagner's (possibly within financial reach) are the E95, W600, and M116 blue background.

In my mind, E107. I wish they had a version of that card in his Pittsburgh uniform.
I also like the E90-2, T206 duh, and the M110. Tony My Wags: |

Off the top of my head, this is my favorite Wagner photo and the E95 might be my favorite card of him (after the T206, of course).
Note: neither of these is mine.

Besides the T206 Wagner, an E107 would be my holy grail. But since neither will be in my future, I'm partial to the portraits like the M116. I also like the E92/E101/E102 poses as well. |

[QUOTE=DeanH3;1506508]Awesome E90-2 Tony! I assume there's back damage?
QUOTE] Dean, No back damage at all. SGC killed the grade due to a faint purple ink stamp showing "Gabriels NY" Looks like a 4 or 5 imho. Great Wagner cards everyone!! Tony |

That pc796 is pretty awesome...i love the way honus is choking up and he looks like he's holding his breath waiting for the pitch.
Pete...that Pinkerton is A-mazing...I love how big the ball looks and in turn how small his mitt looks! But with Honus...the portraits are where its at with me...onviously the t206 is quite special...I love the W600 portrait...the m116 the e103...the e90-2. The e107 is pretty cool with honus in street clothes. |

I own a 14 CJ Wagner and really like that card. I prefer the E103 though and that's my favorite non t206 Wagner. I hope to own one some day.
