I'll start this show and tell by posting two of my favorites......
This one I heard after watching (on TV) this tremendous game on Oct 8th 1956. ![]() Don Larsen's modest response to the sports media's numerous questions after his Perfect No-Hitter...... " The Dodgers made it easy for me....I threw only 97 pitches. " and, Scenario......1958 World Series: Milwaukee 3 vs Yankees 1 The following day a pushy sports reporter asks Casey Stengel: " If he thought the Yankees were choked up ? " Casey responded: " If there is any choking, it will be you on this microphone. " This obnoxious reporter was Howard Cosell. The Yankees won the next 3 games to win the Series. Bob Turley achieved an unprecedented "trifecta" by shutting out the Braves in Game 5. Beating them in relief in Game 6. And, winning Game 7. ![]() TED Z .
