Default Looking for a stub from the Red Sox/Yankees game May 25, 1941

I have a scored program from the game and would love a stub to go with it. If by chance there's one out there, lmk!

Scans to bringtherock@gmail.com

Thanks, Randall. So I've been told. I guess I'll worry about how to fund it once I actually track one down. I assume only a few hundred exist.

Well, I think more are popping up because of a decoding of the old Yankees tickets. Many were not dated and just had the game number on them. But they also had the price and a letter on them. Some ticket collectors have cracked the code and written an article about it...
http://www.psacard.com/Articles/Arti...-1933-1947-era
so more may be coming into the hobby as people find out about this. But if, like me, you require an actual date on the ticket it may be harder.

Not a stub expert but I recently had reason to research Streak Stubs. I do not believe that a "few Hundred" stubs exist for this or for most games during Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak. My Father was born in 1931 and he told me that as a boy he had scrap books filled with baseball clippings. But the paper drives of held during WWII claimed them all. It was one of few ways that young boy could contribute to the war effort. That combined with the fact that most Tickets sold for those game had no date contribute to the scarcity of streak stubs. And this being game 13 of the streak publicity had not taken off like it would a few weeks later as the streak grew and the possibility of Joe breaking Keeler's 44 game record became real.
I know that most stubs are not currently graded but streak stubs have value and I would think a decent percentage of them have found there way to PSA. That being said Not every game of the streak has an authenticated stub in fact close to half have no authenticated stub at all. The exception is the Lou Gehrig Memorial Game which is dated and has a picture of Lou so many fans had reason to hold on to the stub which ended up being a double header. But even that game has less than a hundred graded. And for that game yes a few hundred exist. Most games that have a graded stub have only 1 or two graded stubs. They are both Rare sought after and a complete run of the 56 games would be a significant accomplishment. JMHO

Any one have a Run?

Jonathan

Default 1941 Di Maggio Streak Tickets stubs PSA slabbed

I have several PSA slabbed NY Yankee Home Game tickets
during DiMaggio Streak
some are Dated some or not but have the Letter J (1941)
I personally co wrote the article on " Mystery of NY Undated Yankee Tickets)
posted on the PSA website
and the significance of the letter below the game number which can be directly attributed to a specific year

Very cool! Thanks for all the info, guys! I really don't know much of anything about stubs, but this helps a ton. Now I know I'm looking for game #21/J in case one pops up unslabbed.

Jonathan, I agree a few hundred may be way off - it was a total shot in the dark. Also, I see what you're saying about the paper drives, but in theory wouldn't make programs even more scarce since they are significantly more paper? One would assume those would have been the first to go, way before the stubs.
