I admittedly do not know Maris autos well. I have a good idea what his later sigs looked like but dont know if he has a different signature from early days. Anyone have an opinion on this?
I agree at first glance it would have NO chance...but looking at it, I do see a couple of similarities that make me wonder.

No. Maris' signature never looked anything like that. Variation since the time he got to the Yankees does exist, but by that point the overall look remained largely unchanged until he died. At least in terms of overall structure.
