You have to buy Microsoft Word to get the Outlook Express e-mail client bundled in with it. It used to come with most systems, but I noticed once It went up to Windows 8, they want you to buy or rent the programs it used to come with automatically.
Took me awhile to figure it out, but it's worth the 7 bucks a month or so for the various software suites. I think it bundles Word, Excel and Outlook Express.
