Default What is It ? Found in an estate in Indiana

6b.jpg6b.jpg

I think this is an aluminum "Sand Cast Die" used to make a ceramic mold to produce an ash tray for the 38th joint meeting of the Major and Minor Leagues held in Cincinnati at the Netherlands Plaza Hotel, December 3- 6 1939. Banquet table gifts included Ash Trays Celebrating Baseball's 100th Birthday on each table. The ash trays are ceramic I have four of them in my collection the Reds, the Phillies, the White Sox, and the Giants. News Paper photos show the ash trays on the tables I assume all the Major League teams were made for the banquet. The Centennial of Baseball celebration came to a fitting end in Cincinnati at the winter meeting. What do you think ??? Visit my web site for more information and your comments www.1939baseball.com Thanks Steve
