If that.
Obviously the corners have been snipped right off. Edges look like it was just printed and you should expect wear, fading and overall damage to cards that old. The wear on the back is inconsistent with staining on the front and that crease looks easily like it was bent, just to look old. I'm sorry that you picked it up. (It might not be fake, but looks like it to me. -Owen

Did not look original to me either, the photo should be a real photo, and if you can see the back, it should have a lineup. It also did not appear that the crease went all the way through.

"City Livery...... give me a call."
When did telephones become so common that an ad would suggest that you "give me a call"? Sometime after WWII would be my guess. Certainly not in the 1800s. ![]() Last edited by Sean; 04-20-2015 at 04:11 PM. |

The mount is clearly not period, but I am curious about the photo. I assume it is a modern fake, but it would be worth looking at it more closely. Bottom line is to stay away.

Looks like a copied fake from the real deal that measures 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 . If you Google - Paulding clippers baseball, you'll see this item by clicking -
Paulding, Ohio baseball team-Sheaff: ephemera. Its a nice looking item and has more information about it including players names. |

Well, looking up the real one from the other comment, it does say "Give me a call."

"Give me a call" predates the invention of the telephone. Calling just meant visiting and the word transferred to visiting someone on the telephone.

In defense of the item, I can assure you that those are not the Los Angeles Clippers. I have checked all the ears and noses and there is not one match.

Hello,
1) If you look at the seller's Feed back, they have sold numerous reprints in the past. 2) The seller is from New Albany, Indiana. A year or two ago, there were a couple of threads on this site about a scam artist (or three) from New Albany, Indiana. The reason New Albany stands out to my memory is because I grew up about 20 miles from this town in Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, KY. David |

This guy sells tons of garbage...look at his completed listings.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/justcollecti...H_Sold=1&rt=nc Filled with reprint baseball cards that he appears to have aged, but is selling them as reprints. Take a look at this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nice-CDV-Of-...item1e99ca1bf4 Quite clearly on the left hand side you can see this photo (most like a Kinko color copy) was glued to an old cabinet photo as you can barely make out the bottom tips of the letters of the studio or town this cabinet was made.
