This interesting read is from the Sports Section of today's Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports...ca6_story.html
I confess that I could not have told you who broke the color barrier in the NBA. But, I do vaguely remember watching Earl Lloyd play on TV when I was a teen in the late 1950's. I was even more amazed to learn that Lloyd was a native of Alexandria, VA, same as me, and lived there thru high school. I've lived in Alexandria or nearby all of my life, but I never heard about him (Lloyd was some years before my time). Val |

I have met Earl Loyd. A very nice man who gave a lot of his time to schools in the Detroit area. He will certainly be missed and leaves a long legacy of accomplishments both on and off the court.
