David Schoenfield's ESPN.Com column, 'Ranking the Commissioners'
The piece, has, as its undercurrent, a seldom-mentioned timeline of the Game's history. I don't agree with some of what he relates, but it's hard to argue against it. I do, however, believe that Bart Giamotti was only ranked as low as he was because of his early death. The man truly loved the game and would do anything he could to protect its integrity.
