Walter Johnson original photo 1926
I am selling this Type 1 original photo of Walter Johnson. The uniform dates the photo definitively to 1926. The man he is shaking hands with is Heavyweight boxing contender Ben Pound. I was informed by Hank Thomas, Walter's Grandson that this photo came from the Johnson family collection It was also used in Hank's book "Walter Johnson Baseball's Big Train"
In the bottom right is an embossed stamp of the photographer's name. Carl T Thoner Tampa, Fl Carl T Thoner has photographs in Corbis, but I can't find any other history of his photographs. The photo is a full 8x10. Sold
