Card in REA Auction: Does Flaw Make It More Or Less Valuable
The eternal question, so have a go at it. It's a top-graded Topsy in a D359 with a bit of another card at the bottom on both the front and back. So a good test case. It's the 3.5 below--note that a 3 in recent Goodwin auction also had thinner slice of card at bottom.

and here is your typical answer...if it were a t206...YES...since it's a lame-ass D card...Not likely!

I think Pete is on target with this, even if we remove his 'emotion'.
Perhaps the interest in these anomalies will increase in value for D cards et al as good friend Brian M. hoards them all. all the best, barry |

I guess I'm not so much wondering if the flaw makes it MORE valuable but if it makes it less, or neutral.

I think it's cool. If I were in the market for one, I would like this example, and bid maybe 15% more because of the coolness factor.
However, if I were working on a set, and none of the other cards had anything odd about them, I might go the other way, and avoid this card to keep my set uniform and my OCD in check.

We'll if there is another with a similar cut issue it would seem that isn't anything that should add much of a premium. For me for a defect to add value it needs to have a bit more going on. T205s (my fav) included; I've seen like 6 bris lords with a similar cut and pass bc it doesn't do anything for me
