They probably didn't want to clean off the dirt for fear of getting a 2:

The dirt and staining is certainly an issue, but what is that wavy area in the orange and green sections in the lower right hand side? Is that in the card? If it is, I don't see this getting better than a 2.5 from PSA.

If the card is perfectly clean it's a 5. There's no downgrading at all for stains? I wouldn't wrap my fish with that card.

Not trying to increase the amount of "popcorn" in this thread; however, I will mention that the particular eBay seller whose card was shown has gotten grade bumps before. I believe he even managed to turn an Art Shell card from an 8 to a 10.

Just sayin...there may be a little favoritism going on at PSA.

Buy the card, not the holder...as many have said here before.

Best regards,

Eric

Jeff,

You wrap your fish with vintage cards? Interesting.

Just kidding, of course. Hope all is well.

Best regards,

Eric

Often times I wonder. Nice looking card but not a 5. Just my thoughts

That shouldn't be an Excellent 5. I would think at least 2-3 grades lower.

I will go out on a limb and say it doesn't get to a price historically equal to others in a comparably numbered holder. We'll see if anyone buys the holder?
