Need help ID'ing this "Silent" John Gillespie. It looks like a 1922 Caramel, but it is larger; roughly the size of a post card. Thanks!
Update: It is glossy on the front and (non-glossy) paper on the back. I've attached a back scan. The corners as well as the top and bottom edges have a glue looking substance that makes me think it used to be in a mount or photobook. ![]() Last edited by peterose4hof; 08-12-2014 at 07:29 AM. |

Looks like some kind of larger reprint maybe? What kind of stock is it?

It's slightly thicker than paper, but not as heavy as card stock.
I bought it from a board member a while back. I tried searching for the B/S/T thread, but couldn't find it. Last edited by peterose4hof; 08-12-2014 at 07:07 AM. |

Obviously based off his E120/W573 card...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-E120-Am...item2c88de5c49 Most likely from the W573 given the black and white coloration of the piece. About the piece itself I am skeptical of its authenticity without having it in hand to examine. If however it is from the period it looks like someone had it made based off the card (hence the carryover round ornate frame.) It is likely a fantasy piece or possibly (again if period-- which I am doubting) could have been made by Gillespie himself to give out? I doubt any more information will be forthcoming. Do you have a picture of the back, which I assume is blank?
