I've posted these in the May/June pick up threads, but they are much more at home here in this thread. This is a trio of some of the most ridiculously tough 'In Action' cards to find even remotely centered properly.

I never noticed the bat in the lower left corner of the Tom Haller in action.
Did the runner slide over it, and kick it up into the air? Very odd. |

![]() For the rack pack at the bottom, is it unusual to have cards from the both the 3rd and 5th series showing on the front of a pack? From previous threads it was clear that in 1973 that Topps issued cards from multiple series together, but did Topps also do this in 1972? Back to the theme of the thread, one of my favorite sets too: http://www.psacard.com/PSASetRegistr...px?s=3092&ac=1 |

Another odd thing about the Haller card is he's listed on the Tigers (on his 'regular' card #175)…but that's a Met sliding into home plate!!
(The shot was taken when he was on the Dodgers.)

I always hated the Bob Barton "In Action" card.
Seriously? This was the best action shot you could find!? ![]() |

I know Rick Wise 'famously' got his first career win in that second game, but it wasn't his ML debut…so I'm out.

Rick Wise did have one of the best days ever by a pitcher, pitching a no-hitter and hitting two home runs. Against a pretty darn good lineup.

Yes, Wise, Fernando Tatis, Mark Whiten and Bud Smith all had memorable moments as Cardinals. But meanwhile Steve Carlton....

In Sept., 1969, carlton (then with the Cardinals) became the 1st pitcher to strike out 19 batters in a 9 inning game and couldn't seal the deal. He lost to the Mets thanks to 2 2 run homers by that very nice young man Ron Swoboda of the 1969 World Champion Mets.
