Does anybody know anything about this company. Are they legit? It seems that they would be at autograph signings and authenticate items on the spot. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

They were authenticating signed items at National Pastime's Atlantic City show in May 1995. I had DiMaggio sign a ball, then went over to SSI's booth or table. This was the pre-hologram era, so their rep hand-wrote a code in black pen on the side of the ball in tiny printing. They also printed out a "National Sports Autograph Network Registration Certificate" (about 8-1/2 by 11) with your name and address, the code, the item, the signer, the date, and the event on it. The pre-printing on the certificate was in purple, with the above info added in black. So to this extent, they were legit.
I couldn't find anything about them on-line when I searched a couple of years ago. I too would be interested in hearing more of the story. Bob |

Thank you Bob for the information. I have two photos signed by Joe Dimaggio with the purple paper that you mentioned. I wasn't sure if they were legit or not.
